triviatuesday:

Thanks for helping us affix names to the song snippets on our mixtape, rebstein!  You were one of a few who got the songs and artists all correct, and named the theme.  The songs:
The Fugees - “Killing Me Softly” (originally Roberta Flack)
Whitney Houston - “I Will Always Love You” (originally Dolly Parton)
Dynamite Hack - “Boyz-n-the-Hood” (originally Eazy-E)
Michael Jackson - “Come Together” (originally The Beatles)
Guns N’ Roses - “Live and Let Die” (originally Paul McCartney and Wings)
The Black Crowes - “Hard to Handle” (originally Otis Redding)
Counting Crows with Vanessa Carlton - “Big Yellow Taxi” (originally Joni Mitchell)
Red Hot Chili Peppers - “Higher Ground” (originally Stevie Wonder)
Johnny Cash - “Hurt” (originally nine inch nails)
Soft Cell - “Tainted Love” (originally Gloria Jones)
As you can see, the theme is that they were all covers…
And rebstein, speaking of covers, do you know what has a cover?  The copy of Mo’Nique’s book Skinny Women Are Evil that is now yours!  What’s the deal with this, what’s the deal with that?  Did you ever wonder about whatever?  Well, Mo’Nique has a humorous point of view on that!  Next stop, laughter!

My expression in that icon is totally my expression right now. :D And the glorious prize should make for some interesting reading on the train…

triviatuesday:

We’ve made you another mixtape!  Except, as usual our boombox got some sand in it and that screwed up the recording, making it so that only little bits of the songs came through.  The other thing is, we totes forgot to write out a list of the songs!  So if you could do that for us, that would be tremendous.

Okay, no more make-believe play-pretending: Here are clips from 10 songs…Name the title and the artist as well as you can for each. One point for the artist, one point for the song title. There is a theme connecting them…1 sparkly bonus point if you can tell us the theme!

The prize this week, a book from my shelf of Books That I Didn’t Really Read but Still have For Some Reason:

I love trivia. And music. I started following Trivia Tuesday about a month ago, but had been unsuccessful with their weekly trivia until this Tuesday. After listening to the clip once, I knew I had this…
